PRODUCT UPDATES

PXL Ident’s UI & performance enhancements are coming soon

We continuously refine our products with a strong focus on data-driven optimisation and real user testing. The next release of the PXL Ident, planned for June 2026, will include meaningful improvements to both user experience and its performance.

These key enhancements are planned:

  • During the document scanning step, users will be guided by embedded animations, a natural first-person perspective and real-time feedback, helping them understand what to do instantly and move through the process with ease.

  • The selfie video step follows the same approach, combining a first-person perspective with clear, easy-to-follow language and persistent instructions to ensure a smooth experience.

Combined with optimised code and preprocessing, these updates will create a faster, more seamless journey, helping customers to reduce drop-offs and deliver maximum conversions.

Early results show up to 2x faster screen loading times (based on internal testing), and a 40% more efficient document scanning process, driven by reduced data transfer between frontend and backend systems.

Sign on Screen for obtaining a visual consent during the customer onboarding

Sign On Screen Screenshots NL

Sign on Screen is the latest addition to our e-signature product suite, supporting customers in providing visual consent directly on a smart device, whether at the point of sale or remotely.

Delivered as a flexible Software as a Service (SaaS) solution via modern REST API integration, Sign on Screen allows companies to seamlessly embed signature processes into their existing onboarding and contract workflows.

For industries, such as telecommunications, this results in a more efficient and secure way to capture consent. The solution supports both single-party and multi-party signatures, is fully configurable and adaptable to existing systems and corporate design.

Our customer Sunrise is already using Sign on Screen to digitise contract processes in their shops, enabling faster contract completion and eliminating paper-based workflows. This significantly reduces their administrative effort while delivering a modern, seamless customer experience.

SUCCESS STORIES

BVG modernises its identity verification infrastructure with PXL Ident, for scalable and efficient operations

We are pleased to share this quarter’s success story, featuring the Substitute Occupational Benefit Institution (Stiftung Auffangeinrichtung BVG). This Swiss pension institution provides occupational pension coverage, operates in a highly regulated environment and serves over 1.6 million customers.

As part of its digitalisation journey, the organisation encountered limitations with its previous identity verification solution, particularly with regard to integration, data structure, and usability. Meanwhile, paper-based processes resulted in lengthy processing times and considerable manual effort, while demand for seamless digital services continued to grow.

By implementing PXL Ident, the foundation has established a secure, fully digital identification process that was seamlessly integrated into existing workflows.

As a result:

~60% increase in annual identification transactions
~30,000 payout processes digitised
~20% faster processing time overall

A video case study featuring first-hand insights from Christoph Egger, Head of IT Development at BVG, will be available soon.

PRESS & MEDIA

Deepfake detection moves from research into product integration

Following two years of research in collaboration with the Idiap Research Institute and supported by Innosuisse, we have successfully integrated our deepfake detection technology into the PXL Vision's product suite.

Our press release, “PXL Vision and Idiap Research Institute develop new deepfake detector”, provides deeper insights into the underlying framework, project results and how this technology strengthens the deepfake fraud prevention in identity verification.

In addition, our CEO Michael Born was featured in Handelszeitung, with the article -  “Deepfakes: How Insurers Protect Themselves Against Identity Fraud”. Here he highlights the importance of a layered security approach, combining multiple detection mechanisms, to effectively counter increasingly sophisticated fraud attacks.

EVENTS & HAPPENINGS

PXL Connect and the adoption process of the Swiss e-ID

Alongside our participation in key industry events (OMNISECURE, Frankfurt Digital Finance, 24th NextGen Payments & RegTech Forum, START Summit, etc.), we hosted our annual PXL Connect event at the beginning of March, and welcomed over 80 guests in Zurich.

PXL Connect NL 1

This year's event focused on the growing threat of deepfake fraud and the adoption phase of the Swiss e-ID. Christian Heimann (fedpol) took to the stage to share insights into the security architecture and planning behind the Swiss e-ID, while David Koelliker (VISCHER) spoke about the evolving regulatory landscape around e-ID in Switzerland & EU.

The event provided an ideal platform to demonstrate how our solutions will incorporate e-ID-based identification. Our goal is to offer customers and partners a seamless, future-proof approach, enabling smooth identification via the Swiss e-ID and offer PXL Ident as a reliable fallback to maximise conversion across all user journeys.

e-ID adoption with PXL Vision

We concluded PXL Connect with a long-standing tradition: the Partner of the Year Award. This year, the award was presented to Netcetera in recognition of the outstanding collaboration and impactful joint projects.

Video ID is dead: New KYC standards from 2027

We recently published a new blog article on the upcoming EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation (AMLR) and its implications for KYC processes.

The article explains how the new “single rulebook” will standardise requirements across Europe, why eIDAS-compliant identification will become the norm, and why video identification is soon to be consigned to history.
