ONLINE WEBINAR
Join our GwG/AML webinar with our partner Netcetera on September 9th at 11am.
On October 1, 2026, the amended Anti-Money Laundering Act will take effect, including a transparency register and due diligence requirements. Meanwhile, FINMA is revising its Circular 2016/7 on video and online identification, with the state e-ID due to be introduced shortly.
In our webinar, "FINMA-Compliant Onboarding with B2C-QES: Law, Reality, Solution", we are happy to show you what this means for your customer onboarding - legally, practically, and technically.
✔ Clarity: What applies starting October 1, 2026, and how financial institutions need to prepare? ✔ Practical guidance: A live demo of a FINMA-compliant onboarding process using a one-shot qualified electronic signature (B2C-QES) ✔ Security: How real the deepfake threat actually is and why Switzerland’s status as a data location is becoming a compliance factor ✔ Answers: A 15-minute live Q&A with our experts
The webinar will be held German. Secure your place now, listen to our experts in real time or receive the webinar recording straight to your inbox.
PXL Vision joins Bitkom's EUDI Wallet Memorandum of Understanding.
Germany's EUDI Wallet is set to launch on 2nd January 2027. To ensure it has real, usable applications from day one, industries must start preparing now.
Bitkom and the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation (BMDS) have launched a joint MoU with over 120 companies. Signatories will adapt their processes early on and, in return, provide practical insights directly to the BMDS and SPRIND (the Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovations) for implementation.
As a company that develops solutions for identity verification and electronic signatures, and with the launch of the Swiss e-ID approaching, we recognise the importance of government and industry collaborating from an early stage.
To sign up for the Memorandum of Understanding visit Bitkom's webiste.
PRODUCT UPDATES
We offer 24/7 service to customers and partners. 🕑
Did you know that our manual review service is available 24/7, with a service level agreement of just 3 minutes? This also applies to weekends and public holidays.
In Switzerland, manual identity reviews are usually limited to standard office hours, reflecting long-standing industry practice. Our infrastructure removes this constraint. Verification and electronic signature processes continue independently of business hours or time zones, with no reduction in response time.
For end users, this means a consistent experience, regardless of when a request is initiated. For our customers, it eliminates a common operational limitation.
For more information about our Manual Review Service visit our website or get in touch with our experts.
PXL Ident now has a faster workflow process with fewer screens.
We have removed two compatibility check screens from the identification workflow, including the compatibility test and success screens. This step initially checked the compatibility of the device/browser and was visible to users before the ID verification step.
Following an update, browser compatibility is now silently checked in the background when the first screen loads, requiring user interaction or confirmation only if necessary. Camera and motion sensor checks are performed when the first camera-dependent module loads. Users only see a screen if there is an issue — the optimal path requires no additional taps.
For end users, this means fewer clicks and faster access to the verification process, reducing the risk of drop-off before verification even begins. For customers, it means improved conversion through a leaner, less interruptive process.
SUCCESS STORIES
Brauerei Locher AG automates age verification with PXL Age.
Brauerei Locher AG, a family-run Swiss brewery in Appenzell selling beer, whisky, and other age-restricted products online, previously relied on self-declaration at checkout — a checkbox with no actual proof of age.
As Swiss law sets the stricter age checks, the brewery wanted to take a proactive approach rather than wait for a complaint.
They chose PXL Age for its combination of security and usability: browser-based, no app download required, automatic ID verification, and a solution built by a Swiss provider compliant with FADP/GDPR and ISO/IEC 27001.
Integrated directly into their Contao-based shop, verification now triggers automatically whenever an order contains alcohol. Customers scan their ID via the camera before returning to the checkout. The result is a consistent, automated process across all brands and product categories. This reduces the need for manual case-by-case decisions by the team and reinforces Brauerei Locher's profile as a responsible retailer.
FINMA-compliant, deepfake-proof, customer-friendly. Is that even possible?
The financial and insurance sector is a prime target for identity fraud. According to FINMA Guidance 02/2026, simply meeting former AML regulations is no longer sufficient for digital onboarding processes. Financial institutions must actively defend against AI-driven deepfakes while ensuring a smooth user experience.
Having researched deepfake detection for over three years, we know that regulatory compliance, high-level fraud protection, integrated electronic signatures, and an intuitive customer journey can go hand in hand.
In a recent article, "FINMA-compliant, deepfake-proof and customer-friendly — is that even possible?", we explore the challenges that regulated businesses face today and discuss the right balance between AML compliance, security measures and user experience (UX).

EVENTS & HAPPENINGS
Although it was a fairly quiet summer in terms of events, there were still a few highlights worth celebrating. Our sponsored team, TC Seeblick (men's team), won the Swiss Tennis Championship NLA title in Lucerne along with the TC Froburg Trimbach (women's team).
We are very proud to have supported TC Seeblick on their journey, and we are delighted to see them crowned champions.
This month, we also hosted our PXL Summer Party, which was a wonderful afternoon filled with tennis, food, music and interesting conversations. The best part was bringing everyone together in one place, including remote colleagues joining us from across Germany, as well as PXLers' families and loved ones.
